How to photograph an invoice so Wasli reads it well
A clear photo is easier for any reader, human or model. Six habits are enough.
✕ Avoid ✓ Do 1
Even light
Put the paper under even light. Avoid a shadow that splits the page and glare that wipes out numbers.
✕ Avoid ✓ Do 2
The whole page, corners included
Fit the whole page in the frame. The cropped part may hold the total or the tax number.
✕ Avoid ✓ Do 3
Phone parallel to the page
Shoot from straight above. A tilt squeezes the digits and changes their shape.
✕ Avoid ✓ Do 4
Focus before you shoot
Tap the screen so the phone focuses on the text, and wait a moment before capturing.
✕ Avoid ✓ Do 5
One document per photo
Avoid putting several receipts in one photo if you can. One photo per document is clearer and easier to review.
✕ Avoid ✓ Do 6
Leave the pen visible
Do not hide handwritten corrections or strike-throughs. Wasli flags the corrected number for you to review.
Current limits: a PDF up to 10 MB, and a JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF image up to 5 MB.
